Whistler Transit Centre
Timeline: Official Opening January 22, 2010
North of Whistler Village, the Whistler Transit Centre is an award winning operations and maintenance facility designed and built to support Whistler transit service requirements until 2050.
Accommodating 50 vehicles, and boasting state-of-the-art equipment and environmental safeguards, the newly-built Whistler Transit Centre is serving as a blueprint for the development and construction of transit facilities being built across the province.
Built in time to serve the 2010 Winter Olympics, the facility also hosts the world's largest hydrogen fueling station and the world’s largest hydrogen fuel cell fleet operating in a single location.
The Whistler Transit Centre received the "2010 Design-Build Award of Excellence" from the Canadian Design-Build Institute (CDBI).
