Funding for the Nanaimo Regional Transit System is cost shared between the Regional District of Nanaimo and BC Transit.

Decisions about fares, routes and service levels are made by the Regional District Board, based on information and planning provided by Nanaimo Regional Transit and the Municipal Systems Program of BC Transit.

The buses are operated by the Transportation Service Department of the Regional District of Nanaimo.

Due to the routing of the Harbour City Marathon on Sunday, Sept.7th from 6:00 am to approximately 1200 noon, there will be detours on Bowen Road and on Bastion Street that will affect the routing of the transit buses. Please refer to the Riders Alert information on your specific route number for more detailed information on this website.

The Nanaimo Regional Transit System is pleased to announce that we will be providing transit service on Labour Day, (Monday, September 1st, 2008). This is a reduced level of service, so please refer to the Sunday section of your Riders Guide for routes and scheduled times.

The #15 - V.I.U. Connector will leave Woodgrove Centre at 9:00 a.m., Monday to Friday. This trip is not indicated in the NEW Rider's guide, but is still being offered.
