The Victoria Regional Transit System operates in the greater Victoria area. The system includes over 200 transit buses and 40 lift-equipped vans delivering door-to-door service for those with physical and cognitive disabilities that prohibit them from using regular transit service.

Transit in British Columbia is a partnership between the Province, through BC Transit and local municipalities and regions. The Province contributes a defined portion of transit expenses in Victoria. The remaining expenses must be raised by fares, local property taxes or through regional gas taxes implemented by the Province at the request of the region.

Many of the decisions regarding transit services and funding in the region are made by the Victoria Regional Transit Commission.
